Park and Picnic Package

Enjoy a day exploring and discovering one (or more!) of our local Provincial Parks. You won’t have to interrupt your day to find lunch because your package includes a delicious hearty picnic packed up for a lovely al fresco meal in the park. Sample a broad selection of the region with the “Waterfalls” option, or narrow your focus down to one park with the “Picnic” or “Backcountry” option.

Option A: Waterfalls from Arrowhead to Algonquin Park
Explore the iconic Muskoka landscape with a self-guided tour of waterfalls and scenic spots from Arrowhead to Algonquin Park. Tour highlights include local favourite Brook’s Falls, Stubb’s Falls in Arrowhead Park, Ragged Falls, and Whisky Rapids Trail in Algonquin Provincial Park. End your day back at the inn, relaxing under the stars.

Option B: Picnic in the Park
Focus in on one park, either Algonquin Park or Arrowhead Park, and spend your day hiking long trails, cycling or canoeing (bicycle and canoe rentals not included), lounging on a beach, or delving into the history and biology of the region.

Option C: Algonquin Backcountry Daytrip
Experience a day in the backcountry of Algonquin Park away from cars and crowds. Enter the park from the Kearney access points and do an out-and-back hike on the Western Uplands Trail or pre-book a rental canoe from a local outfitter (or bring your own) to spend the day paddling Rain Lake. There are no services in this part of the park but your packed picnic lunch will keep you going for the day.

On the full day of your two-night getaway, you’ll drive yourself to the parks of your choosing or follow the route and itinerary suggested on your map.

Paddle at your own Pace

caonoe packageWhether you’re a beginner or experienced paddler, there’s a self-guided canoe day trip for your level of skill and interest. After your paddling adventure, end your day back at the inn, relaxing by a fire under the stars.

Option A: Paddle to Ragged Falls
For light adventure and an exciting destination, canoe from Oxtongue Lake up a flatwater river to the base of Ragged Falls. Pull your canoe out and hike up to the top of the falls for a spectacular view before retuning to the start.

Option B: Town & Beach Paddle
For an easy paddle in the heart of cottage country, start from the Huntsville town docks and ply your way along the Muskoka River to Avery Beach in Hunter’s Bay. Stop for a swim before returning to the docks.

Option C: Adventure in Algonquin Park
For a big day in the Algonquin Park interior, experienced paddlers can explore big Lake Opeongo directly from the outfitters, or hire a water taxi (not included) to take you and your canoe to Hailstorm Creek. Because of it’s size and many bays, Opeongo is a good lake for exploring by kayak. An Algonquin Park Pass is required for this option.

On the full day of your two-night getaway, you’ll drive yourself to the outfitters to exchange your voucher for one rental canoe, one single-person kayak or one stand up paddleboard. Reservations not taken; first-come, first-served. Need two kayaks or paddleboards? Ask to add a second voucher for $22.

• 2 nights accommodation
• Breakfast both mornings
• Map/directions for Ragged Falls or Huntsville paddle options
• Pre-paid voucher for one canoe, kayak or paddleboard at Algonquin Outfitters

From $275/couple*

If choosing an option in Algonquin Park, add $15 for a one-day park pass.
